Our poolside solutions

Much like our other hardwood solutions, My Tuscan Wood exclusively uses tropical wood varieties for our poolside floors due to their ability to resist humidity, water damage and severe weather conditions. Our tropical woods are all of Brazilian origin: Tatajuba, Ipe, Itauba and Garapa, crafted in our Tuscan workshops between Livorno and Castelfiorentino (Florence) and are available online and across Italy.

Our wood varieties are extremely strong, resistant to wear, bad weather, saltiness and humidity fives times more than any natural or treated wood.

Our wood is sought after also for its ability to keep its shape over time, its resistance to being scuffed, which keeps the wood smooth over time as well as keeping the wood from splintering. Our hardwood floor solutions are perfect for barefoot passage as they are slip free and immune to fungal and parasitic attack, keeping the wood strong and healthy for a long period of time.

My Tuscan Wood deck solutions require very little maintenance and will not deteriorate over time with frequent washings or coming into contact with chlorine and other pool chemicals. Wood is also a wonderful thermal insulator, remaining fresh and cool in the summer while staying warm to the touch.

We can provide hardwood planks that follow European laws UNI EN 13T411-1-2002 A, B or C on request. The Istituto Giordano certifies our finger joint planks.

Tiles

Amazonian Ipe, Ipe Tabaco: one of the world’s hardest and most durable woods, also known as ironwood.

Brazilian Iroko, Tatajuba: South American wood of a golden brown almost rusty color with a straight grain.

Mato Grosso Ipe, Itauba: It has an oily appearance, with a light pleasant scent and naturally resistant over time.

A tiled floor is easy to put together and take a part and is perfect for temporary or seasonal situations, whereas our plank options give magnificent and customizable lifelong features to any venue. Assembly and care

The tiles for poolside spaces are easily assembled even by those who are unfamiliar with DIY, as long as you have an even foundation on which to assemble your floor. Our planks require minimal manual labor. Follow our video tutorials to create the effect and customization you prefer, and if you have any doubts our staff is always available to consult.

Our wood does not need upkeep and will remain strong and unaltered for years to come, assuming over time a greying color. If you want to maintain your hardwood floors’ original hue, treat it by hand with wood oil once a year. My Tuscan Wood is happy to offer clips, wood oil and other accessories on request.
